Tsukiji Market is the largest trading place in Tokyo for vegetables, fruit, meat, poultry and fish. Most of the fish consumed throughout Tokyo once passed
through Tsukiji. The fish here is sold deep-frozen (picture here) or fresh and is on display throughout its 20ha/50 acres. Wholesale selling begins between 4:3oam and 8am and is a site to see. The auction arenas are like theatre performances. Electric and handcarts filled stacked with fish are everywhere so WATCH OUT, you are in their
way and those metal wheels will hurt your feet.
